If piano sheet music is in the key of A and a chord is written with an E# and a g, exactly which keys would you press on your piano? I am new to music. E# is the same as F and all F's are F# in the key of A right? So would it be F# and G#? Or does the # serve some other purpose I am unaware of? Such as adding an extra 3rd onto the chord? EXACTLY which keys do I press?

Take my word for it. You will never make a piano player. Now go outside and play.

Take a tutorial. Its the only way you will learn the basics such as what keys to press for what chords.

I'd say try all of them.
