If you set the acceptance rate too high you flood the patients with false positives. Either way, you will be blamed for harming women on twitter and you will land in jail for lifetime of rape.Your choice?

Our newer dollper, short-wave storm slicing Doppler and 'tendency to rotate" criterion cause many false alarms. But They are also starting to capture & warn people of all the oddball variations on tornadoes. And All this saves lives, the 1950s where every strong tornado killed 90-200. Us Citizens in oklahoma, kansas & nebraska accept that most tornado, are false alarms. They accept that, because they tried the alternative when government policy & radar tech meant that only the 'radar "hook echo" signature could be used for warnings. Hooks do mean 90% likely tornado, but squall front tornadoes, rear flank downdrafts RID tornadoes and "landspouts" are all missed.
