I'm a gay man and I've always dreamt of becoming a doctor. I'm doing well in school and can certainly study medicine. But I'm afraid that some patients will be offended by my sexuality and refuse my assistance or get offensive. Should I keep going towards my dream and become a doctor in spite of my sexuality and insecurities?

Stay to your dreams and become a doctor. Who cares if you are gay and how will your patients know anyway.
