I've been with my boyfriend for nearly six years - and while my father is cool with him, my mother seems to hate him and won't stop giving him the stink eye. She thinks he is controlling me and that I can't think for myself and that a lot choices I've made recently have been because of him and not my own free will. What's the best way to make her see that the choices are mine in the end and that he is only offering advice?

JC, the same old teenage drama and relationship troubles day in, day out. All 100 percent made up. You'll never feel more bored. Brought to you by a pathetic male imbecile.

Tell your mother that if she has a problem with your boyfriend that she has a problem with you. Not in a nasty way ofc. Just say something like "Look, I have my own mind. I am making the decisions not him. I make my own choices. So if you hate him, you're really hating me cause these decisions are mine." Hope I was able to help you.

Alright, don't trust me on this because I've never been in a relationship but I think you should try to get your mother to sit down with you and have a discussion about this. Ask her why she doesn't approve of your relationship but in more depth and ask her how you can prove her wrong or something. Maybe take a weekend to do things on your own with your friends and yourself without your boyfriend. That might make your mother reconsider. But idk tho kthxbye

Stink eye is just another way of saying the evil eye or a constant gaze of disapproval. As for the other question - just talk to her and tell her how you feel.
