So... I'm writing a book, and I'm considering two different names for one character: Daniel (a slightly altered version of one of my favorite author's names, as the other main characters names are) or Clay (which means 'mortal'). While I usually don't give meaning to my characters names, the central plot of the book is focused around this character's death. Which name should I use?

Terra. Sounds like soil and earth.

If your book is more of a fantasy novel, I’d say go with Clay. If it’s general fiction and not fantasy/sci-fi/etc. then go with Daniel.
