Existentially, a door can exist as many alternate portals - perhaps its would be closure on a time and place, either regretted for its causing loss of experiential substantive, or it may in this case be shut with relief, as it allows the detritus from your past to be dammed up. Perhaps shutting too many doors would be a dangerous thing, as it may cause the build up of too much pressure on the framework that holds the door in place, resulting in emotional flooding, re-discoverd regrets or just too much melancholic regression. But if we view the door as our guardian, then it could well become a set of wings, which one could use to take off and escape. Therefore, in this instance we could say a door is not a door when it is our lovely feathery wings.
